At Mayer Tree Service, Inc., Our Plant Health Care Program is designed to preserve the health and beauty of our trees and shrubs. We offer an effective, environmentally sensitive approach to insect and disease management, as well as non-parasitic conditions. You can choose from traditional and organic programs to suit the needs of you and your landscape. We have a highly trained staff to assist you, and the newest tools and equipment to handle any situation.
Non Parasitic
There are many conditions that can affect a trees growth that are not insect or disease related. Over mulching, drought, deicing salts, root damage, and many other situations may cause a tree to go into decline. Call your Mayer Tree Service Certified arborist to assist your trees for you, sometimes, there is an easy solution you can do yourself, or perhaps we might be able to you help your trees.
Disease Management Service
There are several naturally occurring diseases in our environment that can be detrimental or lethal to our trees and shrubs. A certified arborist from Mayer Tree Service can help you diagnose what disease(s) may be present, and provide you with a program recommendation to help keep your trees and shrubs healthy.Some common recommendations for diseased Trees;
- Sanitation - Remove infected branches and leaves to reduce the likelihood of reinfection.
- Health - If a tree is infected, focus on the tree's health; watering and fertilization are common recommendations
- Culture - Decrease conditions that promote disease, such as pruning out dense growth to improving air circulation.
Nutrition & Soil Quality
Nutrition & Soil Quality
The foundation of every plant is the soil in which it is rooted. Over time, soil nutrients and organic matter may become deplete and when combined with other environmental stressors, can make for unfavorable growing conditions. Regular testing of your soil as well as prescribed treatments of natural fertilizers, bio-stimulants, and soil enhancers, can greatly improve and prolong the life of your trees by replacing lost nutrients and improving soil bio-activity.
Compaction, grade changes, deicing salts, and overmulching are other soil conditions that can adversely affect a trees health. Use of an air spade may be recommended to improve soil structure or to relieve compaction.

Insect Control
